If you're going to treat yourself to a golf club, have it custom-fitted. Since every golfer has a different height, weight and body structure, a club that works well for one golfer may not work well for another. Finding a club that is fitted to your needs will help your swing.
When you are at the driving range doing warmups, start your sessions out with lofted irons in the 8 or 9 range, or even your pitching wedge. These clubs help you get in a good groove while giving you great confidence as you work your way toward those more hard-to-hit irons and woods.
If you start slipping while connecting with your club during your swing, don't assume your glove is worn out. Check out your grips. It is possible they are worn. Luckily, it is pretty simple and cheap to exchange grips and increase your shot's efficiency.

Snacks are important during the game, but it's recommended to bring something with a high protein value, such as nuts. Golf demands both physical and mental effort. However, the calories and protein in your snack can help you remain alert and prevent your muscles from becoming fatigued, so you can stay on top of your game throughout the 18th hole.
To check your stance, wiggle your toes. You should be able to wiggle your toes easily; if you can't do so, you're leaning too far forward. A professional golfer will learn a good angle for leaning away from the ball. This is meant to give some wiggle room in the feet and set up a proper stance.
Golf clubs have a point known as the "sweet spot." If the ball is hit at this point, it will fly true. Regular and consistent practice with each club in your bag will show you their individual sweet spots over time. Once you know them, always remember to contact your ball with the sweet spot at the farthest reach of your swing.
