Do you talk yourself into the perfect shot or out of it?
Isn’t it funny how you can be on the most perfect golf course in the world, the most perfect weather, the most perfect scenery and yet the chaos that goes on in your head is deafening ?
Here you are surrounded by nature, tranquillity, calm and all you notice is the noise in your head of your doubts and frustrations.
Now try and explain this to a non-golfer and they’d wonder what it’s all about.
However, for some golfers, I’m sure it’s a familiar feature of their ‘enjoyment’ of the game. If you saw Sergio Garcia a couple of weeks ago creeping into the bushes to collect his wedge that he’d angrily hurled there after a wayward shot. I wonder what chaos was going on in his mind at the time.
Whatever was going on was joined by ‘I hope the TV camera’s don’t see me doing this’ and they did and yes we all saw him. It was very amusing.
It’s not amusing though when you’re that golfer and you want to play the perfect shot and instead of talking yourself into the shot, you’re talking yourself out of the shot.
So how can we stop this?
Let’s get started before we go out on the course.
Write down 3 positive mind tips that can easily be accessed when needed most. Refer to these frequently, repeat them over and over again out loud (before you get on the course). Then repeat them to yourself as you walk to the tee or to your next shot.
Smile, enjoy your golf and notice the difference.
Quiet please, I’m talking to myself. And it’s all good!

I'm playing really good golf at the minute but im not scoring good and it's kinda annoying. For instance there's always at least 3 holes which will ruin my scorecard. Most recently last Sunday I was 4over for the 1st 9 holes and still standing on the 14th tee at 7over. Yet I still ended up 15over overall even with a par at the last hole. I really blew it and it's the same story every comp.
I'm a 13 handicapper btw.

Deer were on field at night. They trapped them in dugout then went and looked for things to kill them with. If I remember right a bat, and golf club and something else. I read it in Texas Monthly magazine. They left animals dead on field or near dugout. School employee found. A few days later someone tipped who did it and 2 older ones confessed when questioned. Very disturbing story. They got sent to alternative school, but now back in school, paid 0 fine, not sure if all together or for each deer. I guess this happened several months ago. Maybe Im just behind with news but it really got to me. Excellent report about how some saw no wrong, including one mother and other did. I was reading it at a appointment so don't have it. Two younger ones protected due to age of I feel they should have mental evaluations and child services check home why they felt it wasn't wrong to trap and plan how to slow kill a animal. Other persons said there are too many deer in that area and they need killed. Peta was involved some in it but not now. Makes me sad to say Im from Texas.

My issue is that the iron (5,6,7) bounces off the ground, which opens the face, and a low line drive wormburner to the left results.(Iam a lefty)
This alternates with a thin shot from mental fear of club bouncing.
From a soft/slightly grassy lie my swing and shot is absolutely perfect.
Ive looked up tips for this and many are different/opposite. They say take a slow smooth swing, but this seems to weaken the club and makes the clubface bounce. When I try to put some downward force into it,a bounce results or I hit it thin.
Also I think not having grass to clip on my practice swing screws me up as well. I either chunk it or miss the ground. If the pswing is perfect on a hard lie, would the club slide through?

Not to bad i guess. and my third was 80, 42,38. The courses were all 133 slope. On the 96 we played from the tips. I have a mental game problem while playing but today i shot 80 at my home course. Slope is 127. My handicap is 14 but i need to work on my mental game. Par is 72...any hope?

I the fact that Asafa lower the world Record after a disappointing race against Tyson at the Championship in Osaka a good way to let the world know that he's still in control and clear few doubts about is productivity at championship events, however the Olympics are no play/thing it’s the biggest stage. Asafa has to come out strong, sure metals are good but world record are Great'. For the Olympic he has to produce. I think Asafa can take a few tips from Tiger Woods. Mentally and physically he intimidates his opponents on a consistent level. In my opinion, Golf and Track is a relatively similar that require mental toughness.
Bless!
