Question by gTg: Is there any easy tips to get out of a golf mental block?
I have a golf mental block but it is not my swing or anything, it is a course. I can play well on any course, even some I've been playing every other weekend for a while, but every time I go to this specific course my game is horrible, I cant hit it straight, I cant chip, I loose a ball on every other whole and my round score is in the hundreds while at the other courses my score is in the low to mid 90's. Any tips on getting out of this block?

dont think about your game or what course you are on just focus on the one shot you are making at that very moment. if u made a bad shot before forget about it and worry about this one. golf is a mental game and a very tough one. good luck.

First and foremost, you have to learn the terminology and basic rules of golf. Technique is everything in this game and it doesn't come naturally to most people. Therefore, don't hesitate to see a pro to learn the proper technique. Also, think before you hit and play within your capabilities.  Don't try to execute a shot when your chances of success are minimal.  However, always give yourself room for some error. Don't dwell on a bad shot after it happens.  Focus, instead, on the shot ahead of you.

In order to improve mental skills in your golf game, you need to place your attention in the right way. As with managing your physical skills, using your best mental skills starts with awareness. If you want to quickly and effectively reduce lost strokes in a particular area of your game, you must first understand what is causing the lost strokes. Without awareness, you can literally spend months and even years working on symptoms, never really hitting on the real cause of those lost strokes. Put simply, when you do have a bad shot, try to determine what caused it and turn it into something that helps your game.

Try to develop confidence in all your shot-making.  Make a conscious effort to remove tension from your grip and body. Negative thinking is probably the biggest score-wrecker in golf, especially on short putts.  Convince yourself that you can make that shot, or sink that putt, and good things will happen.

If you take the time to learn and manage your mental skills just as you do your physical skills, and if you keep these golf mental tips in mind, your golf is guaranteed to be more fun.
