The Ryder cup team is based on top eight players based on points plus four captain's picks. Tiger is now ninth in the point standings, but not playing his best. Witness Bridgestone. If Tiger doesn't qualify on points, should Corey Pavin select him as one of the captain's picks? Can Tiger even bring value to the team at that point? I know, sounds ridiculous. But what would you do in Pavin's shoes?

We are a cruel bunch, aren’t we? The guy has had his world turned on its’ head admittedly through his own doing but he did have 5 months off. Since he has been back he has played 3 majors for 2 top five finishes and a top 25 finish in the other, and we want to put him on the scrap heap, wow.
Good thing those same standards are not applied to us or their would be a lot of used clubs available for sale on e-bay.
In reality we have to stop measuring Tiger against the whole field collectively and just look at who is being more consistent in an individual sense.
The Ryder Cup is an opportunity for Tiger to have an increased sense of self worth within the team enviroment. Regardless of what you may say to the contrary Tiger will be on the team, just wait and see!
